Honoring Nurses Week

Honoring Nurses Week

Posted by Laura Ulveling on

National Nurses Week could not have come at a better time. While the whole world spinning out of the autopilot rhythm of “normal,” it is easy to see a few groups of people who deserve some extra thanks this year.

At the top of our list are our health care professionals. While social distancing keeps many workers at home, nurses are far from out of a job. They have worked tirelessly, even putting themselves and their families at risk, in order to provide care for everyone in need.

During this Nurses Week, show your support for medical professionals on the front lines by wearing or gifting them a silicone ring, customized to honor them.

*If you are an active, veteran, retired military member, medic, or healthcare worker, we have a special price for you! You’ll receive 15% off any rings in our Hero Collection. Click here for more details!

What is Nurses Week?

Nurses Week begins on May 6th each year and ends May 12th which is the birthday of the brilliant nurse and medical pioneer, Florence Nightingale. Within this week, we also celebrate National Student Nurses Day and National School Nurse Day.

What can we expect from Nurses Week 2020?

You probably already guessed that Nurses Week 2020 will look a little different this year, but that doesn’t stop people from showing appreciation! Krispy Kreme has offered free donuts to doctors and nurses on Mondays through Nurses Week and other businesses are joining in! Be sure to check the news to find more freebies and fun ways to celebrate!

What can I do for Nurses Week?

We know… social distancing makes it a little hard to take your nurse out for coffee. But there are still so many ways to show appreciation from afar! Here are a few ideas that you can do to make your nurse friends and family feel like a million bucks!

  1. Write a card.

Hey, it only takes a few words to make a difference. Just a simple “thanks for everything you do” is all you need to say! And this one is free, so what are you waiting for?

  1. Drop a gift on the doorstep.

Whether it’s a candy bar or a batch of cookies, a little chocolate goes a long way with just about anyone. Fresh chocolate chip cookies = day made.

  1. Send them a hero ring.

Nobody knows better than you how much of a toll the hospital takes on your loved ones who are registered nurses, doctors, and medical staff. Our customized Groove Rings stand as a daily reminder of your appreciation and commitment. What could be more meaningful than that?

What is a Groove Ring?

Groove Rings are the first truly breathable silicone ring. Designed to protect the finger by breaking away safely, you can wear a Groove Rings when traditional rings are discouraged. Nurses love that they can wear a ring on the job while not risking damage to the valuable, traditional ring. Also, Groove Rings are durable, easily cleaned, and include a 94-Year Warranty! And… you have to admit, they look great with nursing scrubs.

Whether you are an RN, work in a children’s hospital, serve on the cardiac floor, or know someone who does, we designed this ring in hopes that it would be meaningful to you.

Thank you nurses for all that you do for us. You are brave, you are valuable, and you’ve got this! We are behind you 100% and appreciate your resilience! You’re doing Florence Nightingale proud.

Keep Groovin’!
